ESRB releases its next set of investor financial disclosures online

Standard & Poor’s on Tuesday unveiled the newest iteration of its investor financial disclosures that compiles general information from various member institutions, a move that will be made available to every board of trustees of a public school district.

Under the First Step for Benchmark Disclosure-1232 (DRB-1232), the SEC is distributing $4.3 million (US$4.8 million) to 14 member institutions, although it also will donate $4.4 million (US$4.9 million) to the agency’s staff and $1.4 million (US$1.6 million) to the Education Contract Fund (ECF).

ESRB frequently distributes $2.4 million (US$2.7 million) to the ECF each year. The ECF was established under the MacArthur Foundation’s original 2011 model to support aid to public schools.

ESRB also distributed $1.5 million (US$1.9 million) in “passive income” to the ECF in 2018.

First Step has previously released four versions of DRB-1232, all of which are available online. The revisions add the Transparency Advisory Service (TAPS) website and the Educational Policy Analyst’s Advisory Service, which serves as a central repository of data related to educational policy, to the agency’s data-gathering efforts.

A pull-down menu near the bottom of First Step’s website now displays the following information:

Are current school plans appropriate?

– Transparency information available for parents and student borrowers, as well as school districts and districts are required to provide.

– Visit the EDCF website in order to obtain its dashboard reporting information or visit the DRB-1232 website for details on the resources provided to stakeholders.

– The DRB-1232 website and EDCF’s dashboard information can be accessed as a pdf, and relevant resources may be opened in web browser’s Reader.

– Follow up messages from education stakeholders are located at 1-800-617-1433 or at: http://go.eedu.org/advisers…

Specifically, each DRB-1232 organization must allow users access to the Education Policy Analyst’s Advisory Service’s interactive dashboard with educational policy recommendations, educational plans, instructional guide content, and campaign materials. Next-generation education materials on the DRB-1232 website can be used to track the educational information delivered to schools.
