Fox 11 Investigates Green Bay district grades policies, why district won’t release data

Fox 11 is continuing its investigation into Milwaukee-area grades, specifically the high school grades for the district.

FOX 11 Investigates discovered that, while Fox 11 News examined data on grades from K-12, the district has completely not released district-wide data for grades K-8.

Why is the district doing this?

“No one wants to get good grades,” says Dr. John Hughes, district superintendent, via phone.

The district superintendent also said he never expected FOX 11 to reach out and ask questions about school grades, but had no choice.

“I shouldn’t have left that to a rival. I gave Fox 11 a platform to question my standards and issues,” Hughes said.

He added that the district is currently reviewing the grades, due by August, and doing a full audit, which could explain why the district won’t release the grades.

“While this is a way of encouraging information, we do not want to hurt the institution as a whole,” Hughes said.

The district has also addressed last week’s controversy.
